v Friday, 21st June at 23h at the cafè teatre, La Fada Ignorant, Andorra La Vella. Concerts at La Fada (The Fairy): El Tren de la Musa. Come to La Fada Ignorant to celebrate the Summer Solstice with El Tren de la Musa. This is an Andorran band formed by musicians with a long history. An acoustic concert with their own compositions.

Sunday, 23rd June at 12h in the Ordino Parish Church. Spring Concert by the Coral Casamanya.

ENCAMP’S FESTE DEL POBLE: Friday 21st – Sunday, 23rd June.

FRIDAY: 19h a Parade leaving from the Plaça dels Arínsols. At 21h at the analemàtic clock at Prat Gran, Encamp (20€ Registration and tickets from La Valireta.) Gala Dinner 2019. Encamp’s Festa del Poble Gala Dinner is back, the most glamorous meal of the season. The Menu: an Andorran salad with foie gras mi-cuit, homemade magret and red fruit vinaigrette; an oven-caramelised Swiss lamb with pineapple syrup, and a chocolate brownie and nuts with custard. The meal will be accompanied by water, wine, cava and coffee. 21.30h Singles Dinner (Enrollment at the PIJ – Punt d’Informació Juvenil – 732 700 or [email protected].) 22.30h Help the meal go down with a night of dancing to the orchestra La Loca Histeria at the Prat Gran. Followed at 01h by the Festival Venezia Stravaganza Party.

PAS DE LA CASA

Sunday, 23rd June at 21h starting in the Plaça de l’Església with the percussion band Perculights. Followed by a firework display Firgerlight by the Imprevistos company , which will give way to the lighting of the bonfire. To end the acts of the Eve of Sant Joan, coca sweet cake and moscatel will be distributed to all attendees.

LA MASSANA

Sunday, 23rd June at 13h and at 22h in various locations in La Massana. 13h Arrival of the Flame of Canigo at la Plaça de les Fontetes. 22h Lighting the bonfire of Sant Joan in the car park behind the schools. Followed, at the Plaça de les Fontetes by Punkers Love 80s. Which in turn will be followed by sweet coca cake and Muscatel.

SANT JULIÀ DE LÒRIA

19h Collection of the Flame of Canigó at Casa de la Vall and a dance by the Petites Fallaires Lauredians. 20h Traditional running relay descending from Andorra la Vella to the Plaça de la Germandat, carrying the Flame of Canigó. 22.30h Parade with the Flame of Canigó and the children, adolescents and adult Fallaires Part One of the Parade via: Barri Rocacorba, av. Verge de Canòlich, Centre Esportiu, c. Dr. Palau, c. Casa Comuna fins a la plaça de la Germandat. Performance: Ballet of the Petites Fallaires and Lauredians and Dance of the adult Fallaires in the Plaça de la Germandat. Part Two of the Parade via: Plaça de la Germandat, Av. Verge de Canòlich arriving at the aparcament Prat Gran for the midnight reading of the manifesto and lighting of the bonfire. There will be coca sweet cake and muscatel for everyone.

CINEMA

Monday, 17th – Thursday, 20th June at 20.15h at the Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany. La Mystère de Henri Pick (in French with Spanish subtitles) Directed by Rémi Bezançon. Starring: Fabrice Luchini, Camille Cottin, Alice Isaaz. The Story: An editor discovers a novel that she considers to be a masterpiece, in a library whose particularity is to collect manuscripts that have bee rejected by publishers. The text is signed Henri Pick, a Breton pizza maker who died two years earlier.

CHILDREN (All children’s activities are in Catalan unless otherwise stated.)

Friday, 21st June at 18h at the Communal Library of Pas de la Casa. (For children aged 5 and over.) Music workshop. On the occasion of International Music Day, a musician will play some melodies with a guitar and teach the children to make instruments using different recyclable products.

Saturday, 22nd June from 10h – 14h at Vallnord – Pal-Arinsal Station, Pal sector, La Massana. Club Piolet’s Summer Party. Once again, all the children of the country are invited to the party, where there will be all kinds of activities: workshops, games, sports, shows, inflatables … As every year, the Pal station will have tickets on sale at a special price for members of the club, which will give entry to all Pal’s summer activities, while the activities organized by the club, as always, will be free! Piolet, Violeta, and Andi will, of course, also be there. There will be gifts, and surprises that look great! And this year, if you want to participate in one of the surprise activities wear clothes that you can get soaked in, or a swimsuit and a towel! If you are already a member, bring your card, and if you do not have one, you can get one at the reception tent. If you are a member, you can sign up for free with the cable car, from La Massana. Friday, 21st June from 10.30h at the University of Andorra, Sant Julià de Lòria A day devoted to Chinese Culture with the participation of the rector of the UdA and the directors of the Confucius Institute of Barcelona Foundation (FICB). The day will begin at 10.30h with a Chinese breakfast in the Plaça de la Germandat followed by the tea ceremony and a traditional Lion Dance. 11.15h in the University classroom 3.6, the unveiling of the plaque of the Confucius Classroom in Andorra by Miquel Nicolau, rector of the University of Andorra and Chang Shiru and Javier Orduña, directors of the Confucius Institute Foundation of Barcelona. Friday, 21st June at 20h at the Communal Library, Sports Complex, Encamp. (Free but places limited. Reserve a place at the Communal Library of Encamp, or ring 732 704.) On the occasion of the International Day of Music, the Encamp Municipal Library will organize the 4th Vibliosons, a wine tasting that will be accompanied by unpublished musical compositions based on the sensations that the tasting of wine evoke. In this fourth edition, the wines chosen for the tasting will be a Clunia Syrah, an Abel Mendoza Jarrarte (2015) and a Casa Silva Carmenere Gran Terroir. The event will be guided by the sommelier of the Enoteca, José Antonio Guillermo. The evening will be complemented by electronic background music by the creative musician, Ysa Santaella combined with the magic of the violin of Mireia Clua.

STREET MARKETS

Saturday, 22nd June from 10h – 14h in the Plaça dels Arínsols, Encamp. Encamp Saturday market. The Encamp Entrepreneurs Association (AEE) recommences their traditional market as a showcase for trade in the parish. This initiative, which was launched in 2014 with the collaboration of the Comú d’Encamp, has had numerous auxiliary activities such as botifarrades (sausage barbeques) children’s face painting, magic, musical performances or batucades (drum bands).
