BERNSTEIN CENTENARY: A MIXED PROGRAMME: Tuesday, 27th March at 20.15h at the Cinemes Illa Carlemany, Escaldes-Engordany. Ballet direct FROM THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, COVENT GARDEN, LONDON.:. Conducted by KOEN KESSELS with WORLD PREMIERS of works by WAYNE MCGREGOR and CHRISTOPHER WHEELDON. McGregor sets his ballet to Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Wheeldon to Serenade (after Plato’s Symposium). At the heart of the programme is the first revival of LIAM SCARLETT’S THE AGE OF ANXIETY, created in 2014 to Bernstein’s Second Symphony. Leonard Bernstein was one of the first classical composers in America to achieve both popular and critical acclaim and many of his scores are well suited to dance including Fancy Free and West Side Story.

ANDORRA SAX FEST 2018: Monday 26th – Saturday, 31st March.
The Andorra Sax Fest is back! The Principality of Andorra will become the ultimate meeting point for more than 150 high-level saxophonists coming from around the world to celebrate the 6th ANDORRA SAX FEST, one of the most iconic sax events in Europe. You can also follow the Walking Street Festival, with bands playing in the streets, filling them with music, choreography and lots of fun for everybody in the centre of Andorra la Vella. MONDAY, 26th March at 20h: NIKITA ZIMIN (Free)
TUESDAY, 27th March at 18.30h: FRANCISCO RUSILLO, winner of last year’s solo saxophone competition. (Free)
TUESDAY, 27th March at 20.30h: QUATOR MORPHING. This quartet has won several international prizes and their music ranges from the Baroque to the Romantic and on to contemporary music and tango. (Free)
WEDNESDAY, 28th March at 21h: VINCENT DAVID & TAKAHIRO MITA (Free)
THURSDAY, 29th March at 21h: (10€) SAX STORIES BY FRÉDÉRIC COUDERC. A poly-instrumentalist, Couderc owns 25 saxophones and he will tell us the history of the saxophone via his instruments.
FRIDAY, 30th March at 21.30h: (10€) ANTONIO LIZANA presents his new disc ‘Oriente’. In 2017 he played 93 concerts around the world

EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE 1st April at 7.15h at the Coll de la Botella, La Massana. St George’s EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE (in English). A wonderful experience to look east across the Pyrenees, to watch the sun rise above the snow-covered peaks and joyfully to celebrate the risen Christ. Bring a seat to sit on and wear your warmest thermals then, after the service, head back down the mountain to warm up with Easter breakfast, time and venue to be advised. Contact: [email protected]

CARAMELLES Sunday, 1st April at 12h in the streets of Ordino. (Free) Traditional singing of CARAMELLES performed by the instrumental GRUP ARTISTIC D’ORDINO & THE CORAL CASAMANYA and anyone else who wishes to join in.
