The most prestigious cycle race “Tour de France” comes back to Andorra, reaching Arcalís for the third time in its history

On 10th July “Le Tour” (Tour de France) comes back in Andorra (Pyrenees) again for the 9th stage between Andorra la Vella, the Val d’Aran (Catalonia, Spain) and la Coma d’Arcalís in Ordino.

It will be the first mountain finish of the 103rd edition of this mythical bicycle trial (along with Mont Ventoux, Finhaut-Emosson and Saint Gervais Mont Blanc), reports the Ministry of tourism of Andorra.

Of the total 184 km of the stage, the toughest 55 km will be run in Andorra, with 3 of the day’s 5 mountain passes: La Comella (category 2), Beixalis (1) and Arcalís (Special).

The Andorran stage will precede one of this year’s two rest days, which the Tour will spend in the Principality. The race will start again on Tuesday 12 July, leaving Escaldes-Engordany for France passing the Port d’Envalira, the highest mountain pass of this edition.

As a cycling fan you cannot miss this event in Andorra, or enjoying the atmosphere of the race with the best specialists on the international panorama on the two days that the Tour will turn the Principality into the world epicentre of road cycling.
