Krasnokholmskaya Embankment in Moscow

Krasnokholmskaya Embankment is an embankment in the center of Moscow on the left bank of the Moskva River in the Tagansky District between Narodnaya Street and Sarinsky Proyezd. It is a continuation of the Goncharnaya embankment.

It received its modern name due to its proximity to the ancient tract Red Hill. In the 19th century and until 1929, it was called Novospassky – after the Novospassky Monastery.

Buildings and facilities

Houses are located only on the odd side.

No. 1/15 – Residential building. Here in 1957-1977 lived the military leader, Hero of the Soviet Union E. I. Fominykh; in 1971-2019, former general secretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia, Mario Monge Molina; in 1996-2003 – actor Leonid Filatov. The building houses school number 371 (home-based education).
