Goncharnaya Embankment is an embankment in the center of Moscow on the left bank of the Moskva River in the Tagansky District between 2nd Goncharny Lane and Narodnaya Street. Located between the Kotelnicheskaya and Krasnokholmskaya Embankments.
Until 1900, this section of the embankment was part of the Kotelnicheskaya embankment. The embankment received its modern name from the neighboring Goncharnaya Street, which is so called after the palace Goncharnaya Sloboda, located on the left bank of the Yauza River (near its mouth).
