El Born Center for Culture and Memory (Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria), located in the old Mercat del Born in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain), is an archaeological site-museum that showcases Barcelona in the 1700s and the events of 1714 in the context of the War of Succession.

It is a multipurpose, public access space with an extensive program that aims to invite reflection on the past, present and future of Barcelona and Catalonia. It was the epicenter of the events commemorating the Tercentenary of the Siege of Barcelona of 1713-1714, which took place between September 2013 and September 2014.

The cultural center was inaugurated at 8 pm on September 9, 2013 by the president of the Generalitat, Artur Mas. The event was also attended by the mayor of Barcelona, Xavier Trias, the president of the Parliament of Catalonia, Núria de Gispert, the vice-president and head of the Department of Governance and Institutional Relations, Joana Ortega, the Councilor of the Presidency, Francesc Homs, the Minister of Education, Irene Rigau, the Minister of Culture, Ferran Mascarell and the Minister of Justice, Germà Gordó (among other authorities).

On the same day, the show Auca de Born, written and directed by Jordi Casanovas, was performed and ran from September 12 – 28.

The old Mercat del Born, in Barcelona, is one of the first and most important buildings built with iron. It was designed in 1873 by the master builder Josep Fontserè i Mestre and built between 1874 and 1876 by Josep Fontserè and the engineer Josep Cornet i Mas. The structure of cast iron columns and metal horses was manufactured by La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima.
