The Saint Michel du Var Orthodox monastery was founded in 1981 in a deserted and virginal scrubland, in the heart of the Var department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France.

A multi-faceted place where all the activities associated with its vocation as a Bishopric, Monastery, Parish and sacred Ecosite take place.

One can visit the church of Byzantine architecture, entirely painted with Romanesque frescoes (700m²), the crypt of Saint Mary Magdalene and the Russian proto-chapel with a Red Cedar roof. The frescoes were created by the iconographic painter Vadim Garine.

Small hostel for around twenty people is avaialble.
