An international seminar on improving the landscape of industrial zones opened in Andorra la Vella

An international seminar on improving the landscape of industrial zones opened in Andorra la Vella in Andorra (Pyrenees).

The students of the Open University of Barcelona (Spain, Catalonia), as well as students and teachers of profile higher educational institutions of Italy, Hungary, Russia and Chile take part in the seminar. Participants of the seminar will be invited to initiate solutions to the integration of industrial zones in the urban landscape.

Opening the workshop, the Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Sustainable Development Silvia Calvó and the head of the Andorra la Vella department of architecture, Josep Antoni Cortés, called on participants to take a creative approach in order to find real ways to visually improve industrial zones of Andorra, in particular, Pas de la Casa area.

According to Sylvia Calvo, most of the industrial regions of Andorra are close to settlements. Therefore, in recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to avoid problems of environmental pollution. Therefore, now it is especially important to deal with the integration of urban and industrial zones in the natural landscape.

The seminar is part of the national landscape strategy of Andorra, which is being developed since 2012.
