The Minister of Health of Andorra (Pyrenees), Carles Álvarez, will inaugurate the launch meeting of the operational team of the APTITUDE project (Act for the Trans-Pyrenean Prevention of the Dependency in the elderly) in which Andorra participates jointly with France (Occitania) and Spain (Catalonia and Navarre).
The head of the health department has informed the Council of Ministers that the act (which includes the participation of 60 professionals from the country in different fields related to the elderly) will serve to unfold the content of the project in Andorra as well as to determine the operation of the operating equipment. The Andorran Health Care Service (SAAS) is the partner of the project from Andorra and has the support of the Government of Andorra.
APARTMENT is part of the cooperation programs financed by the European Union of the POCTEFA 2014-2020 project (Operational program for cross-border Spain-France-Andorra cooperation).
Spokesman, Jordi Cinca, pointed out that this is a project of high added value for Andorra, not only for the impact on the improvement of the quality of life of the elderly but also for the opportunity to collaborate and exchange experiences in this area with European reference centers through cross-border cooperation programs.
