Ski season 2017-2018 opened in Andorra

Ski season 2017-2018 opened in Andorra (Pyrenees) last Saturday. The snow depth in Grandvalira sector is now about 35 – 70 cm, 28 tracks of total 128 were opened. Due to the low temperature (-8 and -14 degrees) and strong wind, the lifts at high altitudes remained closed.

As for the Vallnord ski resort, 60% of the slopes were opened last weekend, 80% of the lifts were put into operation. In the Pal-Arinsal sector snow depth is now 30-40 cm, in the Ordino-Arcalis sectors snow depth is 40-80 cm.

Yesterday at noon, the traffic on the RN-22 highway linking Andorra and France was completely restored (it was closed on 2d December because of the snow and strong wind).
