Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror national park and the center for the study of the mountain environment of Andorra start “open lesson” of the ethnobotany

On 18th June, the Department of communications of the Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror national park in Andorra (Pyrenees) and the center for the study of the mountain environment of Andorra (Centre d Estudis de la Neu i de la Muntanya, CENMA) start “open lesson” of the ethnobotany (the science that studies the interaction of people and plants).

This is the 5th open doors lesson. Similar events will be scheduled on an ongoing basis according to the big interest of the population of Andorra and tourists.

“Plants are part of the environment, they are traditionally served people as medicines, for example. Unfortunately, part of the knowledge was lost, but CENMA was able to collect useful information about the uses of plants including medicinal herbs, and mushrooms for medical use. And this knowledge CENMA ready to share with the participants of the open lesson,” reports the Government of Andorra.
