Andorran Government intends to develop business tourism that makes up only 0.1% of the total amount of the visits to the Principality

The Government of Andorra intends to develop business tourism that makes up only 0.1% of the total amount of the visits to the Principality. As the Minister for Tourism and Environment Francesc Camp explained, 0.1% of the total amount of tourists  is about 10 000 people, taking into consideration that the Principality is annually visited by 7.6 mln of tourists. As for now, business tourism is attracted to the country mostly by neighboring France and Spain; at that, travelling conferences, seminars and trainings attract no more than 30-50 persons.

In accordance to his words, there are several specially equipped grounds for large-scale events (300 persons and more). “Though this market presupposes a high level of competition, especially with Barcelona in Catalonia”, he resumed.

Alongside with that the Government of Andorra (Pyrenees) together with L’Andorra Convention Bureau (the organization that promotes business tourism in Andorra) intend to unify their efforts and by all means to bring the existence of this option in Andorra to the notice of employers. Probably, Andorra will manage to win due to its democratic prices, ski resorts and proximity to the grounds for travelling events.
