The Government of Andorra continues to support the acquisition and use of electric vehicles in the principality. For this purpose, the program “Engega” was created (from 2019 to 2021, 750,000 euros will be invested annually in these goals). After the successful implementation of the first program from 2016 to 2018, the government of the principality intends to continue to encourage the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles in Andorra (Pyrenees).
When buying a van or a truck with an electric motor, the maximum government assistance will be 9,000 euros. When buying an electric car, the size of the government subsidy is up to 6,000 euros. When buying a motorcycle – from 1000 to 3000 euros. In other words, the government will subsidize up to 5% of the total value of the car.
Owners of electric vehicles will still be able to enjoy all the privileges, including free parking, in the country. The only exception is that they will no longer be able to use the Envalira tunnel for free, as was envisaged in the previous program.
