The goal of Engega 2019 is to develop an economic assistance policy to ensure electric mobility and to improve the energy efficiency and safety of the “national car park”.
The program will enter into force on the day following the publication in the official gazette of the Principality of Andorra (Pyrenees) and will end on November 15, 2019 or after the limit has been reached.
The total budget is 750,000 euros. These funds are intended to partially finance the purchase of vehicles, such as electric cars or scooters or vehicles with hybrid engines. In the case of the purchase of electric vans and trucks, the subsidy will be a maximum of 9,000 euros, in the case of the purchase of electric cars – up to 6,000 euros, and in the case of the purchase of electric motorcycles – 1,000 euros.
As for hybrid cars, the amount of the subsidy will be up to 3,000 euros.
For the entire period of the program, from 2016, the total investment amounted to 3.3 million euros. In the first year of the program, the number of registered electric vehicles and cars with a hybrid engine was 164, in 2017 – 154, in 2018 – 158. Thus, Andorra managed to enter the top 5 European countries in sales of electric vehicles.
