Madrid Planetarium

The Planetarium of Madrid is a planetarium, designed by Salvador Pérez Arroyo, belonging to the Madrid City Council and located within the Enrique Tierno Galván Park in Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain.

It offers free outdoor sessions and has individual and group sessions on the dissemination of astronomy. During 2016 and 2017 it underwent a deep renovation of both technology and the facilities and building. In February 2023, a collaboration agreement was signed between the Madrid City Council and the main European aerospace company, AIRBUS – which includes the provision of content, renovation of exhibitions and the realization of various activities in the field of scientific dissemination.

The Madrid Planetarium offers its visitors several exhibitions with scientific content. Admission is free, so they can be freely explored during opening hours, such as the exhibition of large-format astronomical images taken by astrophotographer Rogelio Bernal Andreo; ESA, Europe in Space, an approach to the scientific work of the European Space Agency through images and models; and Climate Change, an exhibition through interactive experiments to explain the phenomena that cause such change.
