Acting as the head of the Government of Andorra, Antoni Martí Petit, met on Thursday in Brussels the president of European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.
Antoni Martí confirmed readiness of the Government of Andorra to continue negotiations on the agreement on association with the European Union, and also in questions of trade.
On March 1 in Andorra parliamentary elections, at which the convincing victory was won by Democrats for Andorra party (DA) led by Antoni Martí, took place. Taking office of the prime minister is planned for April 7. After taking office, Antoni Martí declared, the new government of Andorra will be able to start negotiations with European Commission fully.
Antoni Martí and the Acting as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Andorra Gilbert Saboya participate till March 18 in a ceremony which will take place in Brussels under the chairmanship of the representative of the EU on foreign affairs and safety of the EU Catherine Ashton. It will become a new starting point in the history of official negotiations between the EU and 3 small states of Europe – Andorra (Pyrenees), Monaco and San Marino.
