The energy companies of Andorra (Pyrenees) and France (FEDA and Électricité de France – EDF) have signed a cooperation agreement for a period of 30 years. The agreement was signed by General Manager of FEDA Albert Moles and EDF representatives in Occitania Gilles Capy, Lionel Zecri and Franck Darthou in the presence of the Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Sustainable Development of Andorra (Sílvia Calvó) and the Executive Director of the Regional Group EDF Henri Lafontaine.

The agreement was signed as part of the policy of diversifying FEDA’s activities in the fields of energy, industry and technology.

The document is a continuation of the protocol on cooperation, signed in 2014.

Under the agreement, the parts will work to improve the infrastructure for the use of electromobiles and electric bicycles in the Principality. In addition, the agreement on cooperation provides for joint work related to the implementation of cogeneration projects – the productions of free heat energy, as well as the development of infrastructure for the production of solar and wind energy.

The parts also plan to promote tourism between Andorra, Ariège and Toulouse, with the possibility of visiting industrial sites and museums (in Andorra it is the electricity museum and the Engolasters hydroelectric power station).
