Mixed emotions for Vicente Pérez on the first day at MotorLand

The Grand Prix of Aragón started in a positive way for Vicente Pérez and his team Reale Avintia Academy77. The young Spanish rider held fourth place repeatedly during FP1 and finished the session in seventh place, with a best time of 2’00.190.

But when the track temperatures rose in the afternoon, things took a different turn, as the talent from Valencia wasn’t able to match the strong rhythm of the morning session. He clocked a best time of 2’01.797 and finished FP2 in 28th position.

Vicente Pérez, who now holds 23rd place in the combined standings of the day, remains calm despite this set-back, as he and his team have clear ideas how to react and to bounce back on Saturday, where the Moto3 action will start with FP3 at 9.00 h, followed by qualifying practice for Sunday’s race at 12.35 h.

“We had quite a good practice session this morning, but this afternoon we weren’t that strong, which was my fault. Now we have to draw a line and reset, so I can give it all tomorrow and achieve a good position in qualifying for the race on Sunday. I want to thank the team for the great work they are doing, always and everywhere,” – said Vicente Pérez.
