Chamberí Market (Madrid)

The Chamberí Market (Mercado de Chamberí) is a municipal market in Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain., located in the Chamberí district.

The market dates back to 1876, but after a major renovation it was opened in 1943, thus completing the four markets in the neighborhood: Vallehermoso, Guzmán el Bueno, Olavide (which disappeared in the 1970s) and the Chamberí Market. It has a rectangular floor plan on a single level, in which fifty food stalls are distributed. During the Carmen festivities celebrated in the neighborhood, the market holds open days with tasting and sampling of typical products of the region.
