Luz-Ardiden with 60 km of slopes

Luz-Ardiden is a winter sports resort in the Pyrenees, located in the Hautes-Pyrenees department of the Occitania region. It consists of two interconnected sectors: Béderet (1680 m) and Aulian (1730 m).

Located 12 kilometers from the city center of Luz-Saint-Sauveur, the resort covers 110 hectares and offers 60 kilometers of marked trails for all levels.

The Aulian sector south of the resort is located on the slopes of Soum d’Arrioune (2572 m), Pic d’Aulian (2480 m), Caperette (2395 m) and Pic de Viscos (2141 m).

As for the Béderet sector, it rises on the eastern slope of Soum d’Arrioune (2168 m).

Maximum altitude 2500 m (col de la Cloze).

Cycling

The road to Luz-Ardiden has a dead end, but the ascent is especially difficult and often becomes the finishing part of the Tour de France stage. Starting from Luz-Saint-Sauveur (710 m), the ascent towards the Aulian sector (1720 m) has a length of 14.7 km. The height difference is 1010 m, the average slope is 6.9%, the maximum is 10%.
