Calle Núñez de Arce is a street located between Calle de la Cruz and Plaza de Santa Ana, Centro district, in the heart of Madrid (Community of Madrid, Spain).
It received this name from 1904 in honor of the poet and playwright Gaspar Núñez de Arce, born in 1834 and who died a year before the acquisition of the street name.
Before 1904, this street was called Gorguera. On this street lived a well-known doomsayer from Burgos (Castile and León) whose name is María Molas, who was executed for it. It seems that the name «agorera» (doomsayer) could be derived from this name.
