A new refugee arrives in the Principality, a relative of those who came to the country last year

The Government of Andorra (Pyrenees) reports that last Sunday, November 24th, a new refugee from the Syrian conflict have arrived in the country. This step is framed within the Temporary and Transitory Protection Law for humanitarian reasons that was approved in March last year as a response to a repeated demand from Andorran society and a commitment to the international community relating to the reception of People coming from the Syrian conflict.

The girl, of legal age, is the daughter of one of the families of refugees who arrived in Andorra in October 2018 and who are already fully integrated into the Principality. The Government hasn’t planned any public act as it aims to welcome and integrate her respecting her privacy.

In parallel, the Government continues to advance the commitment of Andorra to accommodate up to twenty people from the Syrian conflict.
