Mirabel (Ardèche)

Mirabel is a commune located in the Ardèche department (Massif central, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France).

The Auzon river takes its source not far from the municipal territory on the Coiron plateau near the neighboring village of Freyssenet, then borders it. The Auzon receives various streams before flowing into the Ardèche (left bank) at Vogüé.

Tourism and main attractions

  • The Mirabel Tower, remnant of one of the two castles destroyed during the wars of religion. It is located on the rocky barrier overlooking the village. From the tower, the view extends far and justifies the name of the village (which in Occitan means a belvedere).

  • The Olivier-de-Serres museum space allows you to follow the evolution of agricultural practices from the Renaissance to today.
  • The Mirabel organs, a basalt organ wall.

  • Saint-Étienne Church.
  • Chapel on the estate of the Olivier de Serres du Pradel institute.
  • Saint-Joseph Chapel in Mirabel.
