Combat aviation of the USSR: IL-28. The Ilyushin Il-28 (NATO classification Beagle) is a jet bomber of the immediate postwar period. The first flight of an airplane with the engines of Rolls-Royce RB.41 Nene took place in July 1948. State tests with Soviet RD-45F engines began in 1949. During the tests, the Soviet Air Force Research Institute carried out 84 flights with a total duration of 75 hours. In addition to the service with the Soviet Army, the aircraft was exported to China, Algeria, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the GDR, Vietnam, North Korea, Yemen, Somalia, Morocco, Cuba, Nigeria, Indonesia.
