Andorra Telecom declared the launch of the new service focused on the companies having own parks of cars (transportation of passengers, freights, maintenance, and also the companies offering vehicles for rent).
It is about new system which will facilitate tracking of the location of cars in real time. The system will allow to improve, on the one hand, efficiency of use of vehicles due to more exact planning and management, and with another — will increase safety of the driver and passengers, and also will strengthen control of the vehicle. It is supposed that the vehicle will be equipped with the GPS device and the SIM card which will be controlled through the web platform available to the client.
The marketing director of Andorra Telecom Carlos Casadevall claims that service allows to cut operating expenses: fuel, business hours, run. There is a possibility of addition of several modules. For example, the protective module will allow to activate the warning system in case of detection of unauthorized movements of the vehicle, and also theft of fuel or excess of speed. There is a module of monitoring of incidents, displays of fuel consumption and run meaning obligatory reports of each driver. At last, there is a special module for passenger buses allowing to plan more carefully routes and stops.
The pilot project started in January, 2014 — the system was applied in one hundred cars of Andorra Telecom, Cooperativa Interurbana and one more company which wished to remain not called.
The price of a basic package – 25 euros per month for the sensor (the cost varies from total of sensors). Soon the system will work outside Andorra (Pyrenees) — in France, Spain and Portugal. The product is know-how development of the Andorra Telecom company.
