The Minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Innovation of Andorra (Pyrenees) , Gilbert Saboya, has presented the open innovation initiatives promoted around the Cityscope platform, developed between Actua Innovació and the MIT Media Lab, in front of the participants of the 3rd Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Science, technology and innovation in Antigua Guatemala, at the XXVI Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Saboya, accompanied by the ambassador of Andorra in Spain and the national coordinator near the SEGIB, Jaume Gaytan, spoke about innovation projects for sustainable development in which he explained how the results of the collaboration of the project developed with MIT are focusing on sustainable tourism and support for the energy transition.

Minister Gilbert Saboya signed the joint declaration approved during this sectoral meeting that prioritizes the essential role of innovation, due to its transversal capacity, in the implementation of Agenda 2030. The document emphasizes the need to promote innovation with a holistic vision and foster an innovative culture and attitude, as well as boost collaboration between the public and private sectors with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the economies of the Ibero-American space.

The statement, which will be one of the issues of debate during the Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in the second week of November in La Antigua Guatemala, concludes with an agreement to align policies in the field of science, technology and innovation towards the achievement of Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.
