Teatro Kapital is a nightclub located in Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain.
Located in the building on Calle de Atocha, which until the 1970s housed the San Carlos Cinema, the nightclub opened its doors in 1983, with the name Titanic at the instigation of the businessman José Román López Paredes.
Due to its enormous capacity, it soon became one of the most prominent leisure places, with an influx of mainly young people and from working-class neighborhoods around 10,000 people on a weekend. Over the years, it hit the media on a couple of occasions due to sad news. In April 1990 a young man was stabbed in the discotheque. In January 1993 a student reported the club’s security guards for an alleged beating.
In 1994 it changed its name to its current name, Teatro Kapital.
The club is spread over seven floors, the last of which is an open-air terrace. It also regularly hosts concerts, such as the Loreen Tour in 2012.
