Tourism
Like all municipalities in the Luberon, tourism plays a role, directly or indirectly, in the local economy.
First of all, historical and cultural tourism which is based on the rich heritage of hilltop villages or on festivals.
Then, relaxation tourism which results in a significant development of guest rooms, hotels and seasonal rentals, by a significant concentration of swimming pools and by activities such as Provençal markets or folk festivals.
Finally, green tourism which takes advantage of the numerous hiking trails and the protected setting offered by the Luberon and its surroundings.
The old part of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt has a lot of charm with its two 17th century windmills, the remains of its medieval castle as well as three fortified enclosures built in the 13th, 14th and 16th centuries, of which only the “Ayguier” portal remains.
