Modern castles in Catalonia: Masllorenç, Tarragona province, Catalonia, Spain.

Maslloréns (officially Masllorenç in Catalan) is a Spanish municipality in the Catalan region of Baix Penedès, Tarragona. Its population according to 2018 data was 498 inhabitants. It is located on the border with the Alt Camp region to which it formerly belonged.

The castle’s construction began in the 20th century. The castle has not been finished due to a lack of funding. The Calaf family owns the castle.

Its original owner, Jose Calaf Boronat, died more than 15 years ago and for that reason, the castle construction was suspended.

Two entrepreneurs, Adrià Mesa and Gerard Garcia, are currently trying to continue the construction and finish the project which has greatly suffered due to acts of vandalism.
