The Prada Castle is located in the commune of Labastide-d’Armagnac, in the French department of Landes (Nouvelle-Aquitaine). The facades and roofs of the main building and outbuildings, the stone fireplaces and staircase inside the main building, as well as the entrance gate, are listed as historical monuments by decree of December 28, 1984.
Jean de Bouglon, governor of Eauze, married Marie Maurisset, daughter of a Labastide bourgeois, in 1728. Their son had the Prada estate established as a seigneury and had the château built around 1764 by Victor Louis, requesting a “beautiful and practical” castle.
