Southern Railway 4501 “Mikado”: steam locomotive in miniature

Southern Railway 4501 “Mikado”

This Broadway Limited USRA 2-8-2 Light Mikado steam locomotive is based on engines constructed to standardized designs adopted by the United States Railroad Administration when the agency controlled railroads during WWI. 625 original locomotives were produced. This locomotive features full Paragon sound and DCC for realistic sound and motor control. The Paragon sound system works with all Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder (TM) advanced sound systems.

Other features of this steam locomotive include a detailed injection-molded body on a heavy die cast chassis, smooth-running flywheel-equipped drive, directional lighting, traction tires for great pulling power and magnetic knuckle couplers. This HO Scale USRA 2-8-2 Light Mikado locomotive can be operated on all DCC systems as well as on standard DC railroads (with limited sound functionality).
