Piau Engaly – highest mountain ski resort in the Pyrenees with 65 km of slopes

Piau is a ski resort in the Pyrenees with a large snow cover. Due to its geographical position, the resort is protected from the wind. Piau is surrounded by national parks, so you can enjoy skiing in an exceptional setting!

This is the highest mountain ski resort in the Pyrenees – the highest point is at 2600 m. There are ski slopes for every taste: both for beginners and more experienced skiers.

There are 39 tracks in Piau (over 65 km):

There is also a snow park for children and adults with modules of all difficulty levels and a children’s amusement park.

“Groundhog Square”:

Playground located at the foot of the residences. The marmot is Piau’s mascot. Here you can wander the maze, overcome the obstacle course, build the igloo, and try various fun on the snow for the whole family.

Freeride

Do you like to ride off pistes surrounded by mountains up to 3000 meters? The station has four safe areas for freeriding, which can be reached by chair lifts.

BADET: This area offers a breathtaking view of the National Park and will delight lovers of wide open spaces.

COULOIR: A technical descent for thrill seekers.

LAGOPEDE: a beautiful route away from the slopes of the resort.

SARROUS: intense descent with beautiful views.

LA FORET DU HOURS: a descent in the heart of the National Park forest.

Happy Wednesday: every Wednesday, except for school holidays, an adult is purchased for 1/2 day (from 12.30) at the price of a children’s ski pass (-12).

The beginner’s ski pass gives access to the following lifts: TSD Mouscades, TK School 1 and 2, TK Marmotte 1 and 2.

My first steps in skiing: the offer includes 1 ski pass, equipment rental and 1 hour lesson for 30 € instead of 80 €.

Weekends +: 3 consecutive days from Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday (excluding school holidays) for the price of 2.5 days. The offer is available only on the Internet (!).

Short week: Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays. 5th day free. The offer is available only on the Internet (!).

SKI PASS BETWEEN STATIONS: valid for 7 stations N’PY and Pic du Midi.

No’Souci Family Offer: If all family members of at least 2 adults and 2 children under 18 ski on the same day at the same resort, everyone is skiing at a reduced rate.

NATURE ENTERTAINMENT

Just 35 minutes from Piau Engaly Station, Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, discover the new “Northern Space” – without signs of civilization.

ROUTES

All routes are of low difficulty level. They are marked with informative signs. In optimal weather conditions, the total length of the route is 24 km.

FELQUERA
This is the shortest of the 4 runs, 1 km loop. Level green, ideal for beginners.

PRADAS
2 km loop, ideal for cross-country skiing, level “yellow”.

RONATIZA
Level “red”, the longest and most difficult route. If weather conditions permit, it can reach 11 km. There are small ups and downs on the track, in addition to a few bends.

MAÑANETO
Level “black” – 8 km including a steep descent. Vertical drop up to 150 m.

How to get there?

On the way to:

There are several free car parks and 1 motorhome at Piau Station.

From Toulouse (2 h 15 min), Pau (2 h), Biarritz (3 h): Take the A 64 motorway, exit 16 Lannemezan in the direction of Arro, to Sarrancolin D929, Arro D929, Saint-Lary D929, Aragnouet D118 , then Piau Engaly.

From Bordeaux (3 hours 45 minutes): Take the A62 motorway, exit A65 / E7 towards Pau – Tarbes, exit A64 / E80 towards Tarbes – Toulouse A64, exit 16 Lannemesan towards Arro, until Sarrancolin D929, Arro D929, Saint-Lary D929, Aragnue D118, then Piau Engaly.

In winter: ski bus from Lannemesan.

By train:

Arrival at SNCF Lannemezan station, then bus service from Piau.
