Vallter 2000 ski resort with 19 km of slopes

Vallter 2000 ski resort, inaugurated in 1975, is located among picks that exceed 2,800 m of altitude . With the base located at 2,000 m, it allows to combine alpine skiing at the central tracks with climbs suitable for ski mountaineering in the area of the Chalet.

Vallter 2000 is located in the glacier circle of Morens-Ull de Ter. It extends to the north of the Ripollès region, within the municipality of Setcases, in the easternmost area of the Girona Pyrenees. It is a cozy and family-friendly resort, opened in the winter season of 1974-75 as a center for ski and mountain activities. The base of the station is located at 2,200 meters, up in the valley of the river Ter, with a minimum elevation of 1,959 meters and a maximum of 2,535 meters. Its privileged geographical situation allows you to contemplate the views from the highest point, and in days of good visibility it gives you a unique and exceptional panorama of the Gulf of Roses (Golf de Roses).

The ‘Viewpoint-Balcony of the Costa Brava’ (“Mirador-Balcó de la Costa Brava”) is installed on the terrace of the Les Marmotes high rise cafe, from there you can see the indicated panoramic points. The peaks surrounding Vallter 2000 include among others, the Bastiments peak (2,881 m), Gra de Fajol (2,708 m) and Pic de la Dona (2,704 m). Much more than a ski resort, a whole mountain center.

The station strives for a ski and mountain offer that combines the climb with the descent, the “Up & Down” concept. This combination makes it an ideal place for practicing outdoor sports and mountain activities: alpine skiing and snowboarding, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing, freeride, snowfields and igloo construction, snow knowledge workshops ,sledding and Tubby, and Snow Garden for young children.

A family friendly station

Its location makes it the ideal destination for the whole family to enjoy the mountain at any time of the year. Everyone finds something for themself at Vallter 2000: the skier who comes looking for challenges, as well as, those that come to have a peaceful day of snowshoeing, or families that come to play in the snow. Likewise, the proximity to Girona and Barcelona (about two hours by car) and the wide variety of activities and services allow to enjoy an excellent experience in Vallter.

The Vallter 2000 ski resort is located in the easternmost area of the Pyrenees (Girona), in the Ripollès region. The coordinates GPS: 42º 25 ‘36.8 “N and 2º 15’ 54.7” E
