ГАЗон NEXT

GAZon Next is a medium-tonnage truck manufactured by the Gorky Automobile Plant and belongs to the fifth generation of medium-tonnage trucks.

Description

The fourth generation GAZ-3309 family was replaced by the GAZon Next truck. It has a cabin module from the GAZelle-Next and original plumage. Production of the GAZ-3309 ended in January 2020.

The GAZ C41R11 and C41R31 trucks have a carrying capacity of 5.0 tons and 4.7 tons, respectively. They are designed for use on all types of paved roads. Modifications of the CITY subfamily are provided for work in urban conditions. They are distinguished by a smaller wheel diameter (19.5 inches) and a loading height reduced to 1.1 m.

Since the end of 2017, the production of the GAZ C41RB3 “GAZon Next 10” (4×2) truck with an increased payload capacity of 6.2 tons and a gross weight of 10 tons with rear air suspension has been launched. The production of the new three-ton truck with increased cross-country ability “GAZon Next 4×4” (“Sadko Next”) with single-tire rear axle and a centralized air pressure regulation system in the tires has been postponed to the beginning of 2019, and a year later the heaviest version “GAZon Next 12” with a gross weight of 11.9 tons, a chassis payload capacity of presumably about 7 tons will appear.

History

In 2013, the GAZ plant began production of the new light commercial vehicle “GAZelle Next”. And in September 2014, serial production of the fifth-generation medium-tonnage truck GAZon Next (GAZ C41/C42) started in Nizhny Novgorod.

The GAZon Next has much in common with other GAZ vehicles. For example, it has the same cabin and powertrain as the GAZelle Next (GAZ A21). But there are also differences. The GAZon Next cabin is more spacious and comfortable. It allows you to adjust the height of the steering column, and the seats are made according to modern standards. The cabin has ventilation and heating systems.

In 2015, the GAZon Next C42 model received a new 7-seat cabin from the GAZelle Next. This truck was originally equipped with disc brakes on all wheels with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a traction control system (ASR).

The engine used was a Russian diesel engine YaMZ-53443 of Euro-5 class, which was combined with a modernized 5-speed manual gearbox. This gearbox could transmit torque up to 500 Nm.

On the delivery version of the GAZon Next City, instead of the standard tube wheels of size 8.25R20, low-profile tubeless tires of size 245/70R19.5 were installed. This allowed to reduce the loading height of the flatbed version from 1300 to 1165 mm. In addition, this version used a front axle with an increased turning angle of the wheels, which reduced the turning radius by 7%.

The start of the production of the GAZon Next was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Basic Element company Oleg Deripaska and President of the GAZ Group Vadim Sorokin.
