GAZ-3307

GAZ-3307

GAZ-3307 and GAZ-3309 are Soviet and Russian medium-duty trucks in the family of the fourth generation of trucks produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant. Starting from this generation, GAZ transferred its trucks to run on diesel fuel. The GAZ-3307 onboard carburetor truck was mass-produced from the end of 1989 to January 2020, and the GAZ-3309 turbodiesel truck was produced from the end of 1994. It is the successor and replacement of the third generation GAZ-52/53 family, which it completely replaced from the assembly line by the beginning of 1993. In 2014, it was replaced by a new model: “GAZon Next”.

One of the main characteristic design innovations of this generation of GAZ trucks, which distinguishes it from the previous one – GAZ-53/52, is the in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine of the GAZ-542 generation. Due to the unimportant economic situation of the late 1980s, a half-measure was used, a temporary palliative solution: equipping the car with a unit from the previous generation (GAZ-53) – a gasoline “V”-shaped 8-cylinder engine of the ZMZ-53 generation, which later became permanent.

Trucks GAZ-3307 and GAZ-3309 with a load capacity of 4.5 tons are designed for operation on all types of paved roads. The fourth family of GAZ trucks also included the 5-ton diesel truck GAZ-4301 (1992-1995) and the 3-ton diesel truck GAZ-3306 (1993-1995). Since 1999, a 2-/2.3-ton off-road truck GAZ-3308 “Sadko” (4×4) with a single tire rear axle and a centralized tire pressure control system has been produced, and since 2005, a 4-ton off-road truck GAZ-33086 “Countryman” with a dual-pitch rear axle tire.
