Porsche 911 (992 Series)
The Porsche 992 is the eighth generation of the iconic Porsche 911 sports car, unveiled on November 27, 2018, at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles. It replaced the 991 series.
Design
The new 992 features rack-and-pinion steering, MacPherson strut front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension. The model sports wide rear arches, a signature feature of the high-performance 911 models that will be used on all 992-generation cars. The wheels are 20-inch at the front and 21-inch at the rear.
Compared to its predecessor, the 992 is 45 mm wider and features aluminum body panels. A new rear bumper with more prominent exhaust pipes emphasizes the car’s sporty character. The front end is reminiscent of early 911 models, but with a modern twist.
The 992 models feature power door handles, a retractable rear spoiler, and LED headlights. A full-length rear light bar is standard on all versions. The interior has also been updated: a more upright instrument panel, reminiscent of the classic 911, houses two 7-inch digital displays flanking an analog tachometer.

In July 2025, Porsche unveiled the all-wheel drive 911 4S and Targa 4S models, using the same engine as the Carrera S.

Both retained the naturally-aspirated 4.0L (3996 cc) flat-six engine producing 510 HP (375 kW) and 450 Nm of torque, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.4 seconds (with PDK). With a manual transmission, the acceleration time increases to 3.9 seconds. The top speed of the GT3 is 311 km/h, and the GT3 Touring is 313 km/h. They are available with PDK or a manual transmission, with a key-operated ignition (unlike the Carrera’s push-button ignition). The GT3 can be equipped with the Weissach and Clubsport packages.
Turbo S
Porsche unveiled the updated Turbo S 992.2 at the 2025 Munich Motor Show. This is the most powerful production 911 model thanks to its hybrid powertrain, delivering a maximum output of 711 HP and 800 Nm of torque. The car is equipped with a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged boxer engine and an 8-speed PDK.
The Turbo S features electronic turbochargers integrated into the 400-volt hybrid system. These devices supplement the engine, increasing power and compensating for turbo lag. This makes the car more responsive and faster: the coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.
Although the hybrid system added 85 kg to the car’s weight, it still delivers impressive performance. Its top speed is 322 km/h.
