KGM Torres (formerly SsangYong Torres) is a crossover of the Korean company KG Mobility, produced since 2022.

Description

In July 2022, a presentation of the new model, codenamed J100, took place. It is built on an enlarged platform of the KGM Korando crossover and is completely unified with it. The name of the car is associated with the Torres del Paine National Park, located in Chilean Patagonia, in South America.

The car is equipped with a 1.5 T-GDI turbocharged gasoline engine, which produces 170 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. A starter generator is used to start the engine.

A six-speed automatic Aisin is used as a gearbox. The drive can be either front or full, with a clutch on the rear axle.

Diesel versions are not provided, but there is an electric version of the Torres EVX.

Torres EVX

The Torres EVX (code: U100) is an electric version of the Torres, which was unveiled on March 30 at the 2023 Seoul Motor Show, along with a host of concepts and production models. It is the first vehicle to be released under the KG Mobility brand after SsangYong changed its name to KG Mobility.

This model stands out from its combustion engine predecessor thanks to a redesigned front fascia that continues the “Powered by Toughness” style that is typical of electric vehicles.
