The Irbit Motorcycle Plant produces the IMZ-8.201 Cross sports motocross motorcycles in serial production by order of the USSR DOSAAF Central Committee. These motorcycles, created on the basis of serial models, are ideal for participation in competitions of various levels – from regional to national championships.

The motorcycle engine has increased power due to the use of a piston with a spherical bottom and an increase in the compression ratio to 8.5. This requires the use of high-octane gasoline A93.

The lubrication system is made without a full-flow oil filter, which simplifies the design and reduces the weight of the motorcycle.

The ignition system is based on magneto, which eliminates the need for batteries and makes the motorcycle lighter. At the same time, a stable spark supply and unpretentiousness in maintenance are ensured.

The first generations of Ural-Cross motorcycles were equipped with engines with a volume of 750 and 1000 cubic centimeters. Later, DOSAAF branches across the country began to receive racing models with 649-cc engines that ran on A92 gasoline.
