Toulourenc river

The Toulourenc, a torrential river on the northern flank of Mont Ventoux, has its source at the foot of the Château d’Aulan, in the department of Drôme in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, France.

39.1 km long, and winding along the valleys descending from the mountain, it has dug into the rock of its bed, upstream and downstream of the hamlet of Veaux, deep gorges (Gorges d’Aulan) sometimes reaching 100 meters.

It first heads south, passing near Montbrun-les-Bains (Drôme). It then heads west along the Ventoux, passes into Vaucluse (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) via Savoillans, Brantes, Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux to flow into the Ouvèze in the commune of Entrechaux. At the end of its course, it forms the departmental boundary between Drôme and Vaucluse.
