Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux Abbey is a Benedictine abbey, located in Le Barroux in the department of Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France.
Founded in 1970, the community of monks has been part of the Benedictine confederation since October 2008 and depends directly on the Holy See.
The abbey is built in a Romanesque style.
The exterior appearance of the walls is made of exposed buttered stones. These are limestone rocks consistent with what is found in the area and more broadly, in Vaucluse.
The interior of the abbey is made up of three stones of different colors and appearance. The search for these stones took time and was carried out in several countries close to the Mediterranean basin.
