Ford Model A40
The Ford Model A (1927) was a car produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1927 to 1931. The second model with index A in production of the company.
In the early twenties, Ford Motor Company dominated the automobile market with the Ford Model T. However, in the mid-twenties, this dominance in the mass market was quickly eroded by competitors such as General Motors. Falling sales of the Model T forced Henry Ford to agree to begin developing a new model.
The first Ford A was manufactured on October 20, 1927, but sales did not begin until December 2, 1927. It replaced the venerable Ford Model T, which had been in production for 18 years.
Prices for the Ford A ranged from $385 for the roadster model to $1,400 for the Town Car modification.
Production ended in 1931. A total of 4,849,340 Ford A models were produced in all variants. Its successor was the Ford Model B (1932).
