BRP Can-Am Spyder
The Can-Am Spyder is a three-wheeled motorcycle manufactured by Can-Am Motorcycles, a division of Bombardier Recreational Products. The vehicle has a single rear drive wheel and two front steering wheels, similar in layout to a modern snowmobile. The Spyder uses a chassis similar to an ATV. The manufacturer calls it a “roadster”, although technically it is more of a three-wheeled motorcycle.
The Spyder has traction and stability control, as well as anti-lock brakes. The Spyder is licensed as a motorcycle in most states in the United States. The Spyder has front and rear brakes that are activated by a single pedal. It also has reverse gear, power steering, and the option of an electric transmission without a clutch.
The Spyder was previously available with manual and semi-automatic transmissions. As of 2020, all Spyder models feature a semi-automatic transmission, while the Ryker features a fully automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
