Irizar Century

IVECO/Irisbus Irizar Century

The Irizar Century is a serie of intercity and tourist coach bodies produced by the Spanish company Irizar, compatible with various chassis from manufacturers like Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, and Volvo. The model features multiple bodystyles, each identifiable by the OBRA number located on an information plate next to the door. It has been produced since 1991 and includes 14 basic models, the length of which varies from 9 to 15 meters.

Variants

  • Century is a tourist class.
  • InterCentury is an intercity class.

Although the Century has been succeeded by the Irizar i6 model, its enduring popularity has led Irizar to maintain its production for several additional years.

Since 2004, a new generation of the New Century model has been produced, which has become more attractive due to teardrop-shaped headlights and a modern design. The updated body with more streamlined shapes of the front and rear parts is designed to consume less fuel. In addition, a wide windshield, united by front pillars, has significantly improved visibility for the driver and passengers.

Irizar Century passenger buses have been awarded many international awards, including the title of “Tourist Bus of 1994 and 1997”.
