The Madrid Wax Museum is a museum that exhibits figures and objects modeled with wax in MadridCommunity of Madrid, Spain. It is located at Paseo de Recoletos, No. 41.

History

It was inaugurated on February 14, 1972 by the then Minister of Information and Tourism, Alfredo Sánchez Bella.

To build the Museum, a work of research, selection, and reconstruction of sets and characters was carried out, in which Oscar-winning professionals participated. Sculptors, makeup artists, costume designers, set decorators and lighting technicians of the moment, belonging to film production teams, collaborated on this project.

The museum has over 450 wax figures, mostly in scenes. It contains Spanish and international figures, as well as fictional characters. More recent additions to the museum include Hollywood actors, American cowboys, famous athletes, the Pope, and Donald and Melania Trump.
