The Association of Travel Agencies of Andorra (AAVA) made public a press statement about the meeting which was held with the management of Grandvalira Nevasa in which they conveyed their wish to keep the Grandvalira brand, since it would help them and would be beneficial for both parties, according to the association. Professionals from travel agencies consider that Grandvalira, with its important attraction and a consolidated brand image, as it is present in our day to day. Above all, it is present in all contacts and contracts with international clients. The AAVA fears that the disappearance of the brand will have serious consequences on the attractiveness of Andorra as a destination for snowsports and that this, in turn, will cause a loss in the volume of visits to the country”.
At the meeting, the main objective was the current and future status of negotiations to keep the name, despite the breakdown between companies. The president of the association, Raymond John, and Virgine Serrano, responsible for the Commission of receptive agencies. The members of the AAVA assured that they needed to be maintained informed of the current and future situation, since the international tour operators need to activate the promotion and marketing campaigns in order to formalize contracts for the 2019/2020 season soon.
The AAVA reported that it is clear that at this point, and everyone knows what is going on as there has been no evolution, although the negotiations for a future outcome are still underway. John Raymond preferred not to make any additional comments other than those included in the statement because he considers that it is a very delicate issue and that they are not involved in it, but they need to know something more definite in order to coordinate the forthcoming season. In addition, he assured that the intention is to join efforts in order for the common good of all those involved and for the country.
