Moscow Drama Theater on Bronnaya

The Moscow Drama Theater on Bronnaya (from 1945 to 1968, the Moscow Drama Theater, from 1968 to 2021 – the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya) is a drama theater in Moscow, founded in March 1945. The first leader was Director Sergei Mayorov. In 1968, the theater became known as the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, and in 2021 – the Theater on Bronnaya. The theater’s repertoire is dominated by performances based on the works of Russian and foreign classics.

In 2016, a small stage appeared in the theater. In honor of the anniversary, the theater museum was opened in the same year. The first exhibition, “Theater on Malaya Bronnaya: the beginning and the Present,” was held, which presented historical materials, photographs of the theater’s very first performances, photo chronicles of tours and creative meetings in the 1960s and 70s and much more.

The main house of the Golitsyn estate with outbuildings is M. S. Romanov’s apartment building with shops (Malaya Bronnaya St., 2/7), as well as a residential outhouse with the Romanovka Concert Hall (the main building of the Theater on Bronnaya) – an apartment building with offices ( Malaya Bronnaya street, four-building 2) are classified as objects of the cultural heritage of regional significance. The House of the Society for Assistance to Students of the Imperial Moscow University (administrative building of the Theater on Bronnaya: Malaya Bronnaya St., 4/2) is classified as an identified cultural heritage site.
