The Minister of Justice, Social and Internal Affairs of Andorra (Pyrenees), and the candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Andorra, Xavier Espot Zamora, alongside Andorra’s Minister of Education, Eric Jover, presented an educational project aimed at promoting the reintegration of prisoners through educational activities.
Since 2016, training needs analysis has been carried out in the penitentiary center. In response to the needs, a training structure and plan were developed, and now the project is already underway and will be implemented soon.
In addition to the the possibility of receiving a UNED degree (National University of Distance Learning) was added.
In the field of health care, attention was given to helping inmates form healthy habits that can be maintained even after leaving the prison center such as physical activity and sport, nutrition advice and even yoga courses.
Both ministers believe that the full implementation of the project will enable Andorra to set the highest standards regarding prisoners.
