The highest (70 m) mobile observation wheel in the world Avistand installed in the center of Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra (Pyrenees) next to the touristic shopping street (Carlemany avenue). The wheel is able to serve 1000 of tourists per hour. The weight of the wheel is 450 tones; it consists of 42 cabins for 8 persons each.
The trip lasts 10 minutes, this is enough for 2 complete turns of the wheel. At that, the speed of the wheel is regulated by a mechanic, depending on the weather conditions. The attraction is specially equipped for the disabled people. At night the wheel is visible from far away thanks to the illumination made of energy-saving liquid crystal lamps, that enlight the outline of the wheel.
The attraction works up to February 22, 2015 inclusive, daily from 12.00 till 21.00, on Fridays and Saturdays till 23.00
