The Head of Andorran Government Antoni Marti will meet the President of France Francois Hollande at the Élysée Palace

antoni-martin-andorraThe Head of Andorran Government Antoni Marti, Parliamentary ombudsman Visens Mateu and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Andorra Gilbert Saboya were invited to the Élysée Palace on 13th January, 2015 for the meeting with the President of French Republic and co-Prince of Andorra Francois Hollande.

The goal of the meeting was to inform him on the results of the activities, implemented by executive and legislative bodies of Andorra in 2014.

In his traditional report for the results of 2014 Antoni Marti noted that after 17 years of crisis the budget of Andorra has demonstrated surplus for the first time. “Thus, our country is succeeding on its way to economic recovery”, — he said.  The law on foreign investments, adopted in 2012, that allowed foreigners to register their business in Andorra, favored the recuperation of the country’s economy to a large extent. He also reminded that from January 1, 2015 a new tax model, presupposing up to 10% income tax rate, was coming into effect.

The topic of relations between EU and Andorra, including the issues of the Principality’s sovereignty as well the stability of bureaucracy level that guarantees the future of social security, made the core of traditional report. A likely as not, these issues will also be discussed at the Élysée Palace.
