The Government of Andorra (Pyrenees) distributes reusable fruit and veg mesh-bags, in efforts to reduce the use of plastic.
On the occasion of European Waste Reduction Week, the Andorran government gives away reusable fabric bags that are to replace the use of disposable plastic bags when fruit and veg shopping. Around 16,000 bags are to be distributed, from this Monday at the Government Administration Building in Andorra la Vella.
According to the data collected from 9 shopping centres on average 9000 light plastic bags are used in those shops in a week.
The European Wate Reduction Week is from 16th to 24th of November.
